Karlo Topolovec

Karlo Topolovec was born in 1996 in Zagreb. At an early age, he began his dance education at the Tala Dance Center, where he studied and trained in urban dance styles: breaking, hip hop, and other urban styles. In 2011, he entered Ana Maletic's School of Contemporary Dance. In addition to dancing, he expanded his knowledge with acrobatics, tricking, and handstand activities during his schooling. At the Tala Dance Center, he was a member of the BruTala dance collective with whom he performed in the plays "Writing poems" and "Thinkers clock." He also participated at the Platforma festival in the project "Streetforma" by Kenrick H2O Sandy and "Frames and Borders" by Marija Matkovic. In 2017, he entered the contemporary dance academy IDA (International Dance Academy) in Linz, where he had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Jiannan Qu ("Like this, like this or like this"), Evangelos Poulinas ("Where if") Jarek Cemerek, Annette Lopez-Leal, Eldad Ben-Sasson, Lili Jungin Lee ( "Runner's High"), Ryan Mason, Iris Heitzinger and others. In 2022, he returned to Zagreb, where he continues collaborating with local artists. In 2022, he became a member of the Zagreb Dance Company.
